Located in Edinburgh’s prestigious and central New Town it is in an excellent position from which to explore Edinburgh, being less than 10 mins walk from both Princes street, with its city centre shopping and the delightful Stockbridge Area. Stockbridge being full of great restaurants, cafes, gourmet food shops, boutiques and bars.

Bright and sunny, this is a roomy main door basement apartment. Upon entering you are greeted by a spacious hallway from which all rooms lead off. There is an open plan living room/kitchen with a double sofa bed. There are comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV, and DVD player and a kitchen table to seat 4. The kitchen has an induction hob and all mod cons. The superbly appointed bathroom has soft grey sophisticated tiling, a large drench shower and under floor heating.

-Booking Requirements-
We require names and ages of all guests, as well as addresses and ID. We will require the lead guest to sign copy of our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to vet any booking. This apartment is not suitable for stag parties, hen parties or young single sex groups or parties. One member of the booking party must be over 25 years. There is a strictly non-smoking policy. A damage deposit of £250 is required one week before arrival and will be fully refunded pending no damages one week after your departure.

The New Town Chic apartment is located in a calm residential street. Ideally located within walking distance from Queen Street with the National Portrait Gallery, from George Street with the chic boutiques and restaurants for a good night out, and from Princes Street with more shopping opportunities and the excellent bus connections to the sights just outside city centre, such as Queensferry, Cramond Island and Portobello beach. The Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle as well as the delightful Stockbridge area that is full of great restaurants, cafes, gourmet food shops, boutiques and bars are all within walking distance.

Dundas Street just around the corner from the apartment is a hidden gem filled with great restaurants and cafes. For something different, we highly recommend Korean restaurant Shilla. Arguably the most authentic Korean style food, a wonderful fresh menu with each dish full of flavour. Don't be deceived by the cellar location of the restaurant; interior is just as charming as is the food! And just a few minutes walk away is a wonderful cafe, the Cuckoo's Bakery tea room, who bake 12 different cup cake flavours daily - and with a daily changing menu it is definitely worth a visit!

Also, around the corner from the apartment, on Cumberland Street, the Cumberland Bar is a prime gathering place for locals and visitors alike, with their range of cask-conditioned ales and beers, as well as a good selection of wines and whisky’s it is definitely a place to be. An added attraction is its coal fire warming the soul on a winter’s evening, and having as the the prime attraction its lovely walled beer garden – a shady green oasis which is the place to enjoy Edinburgh’s short summer. And on Queen Street, just a few minutes away from the apartment, we highly recommend The Jam House and their wonderful 2-2-2 deal especially: 2 courses, 2 glasses of wine for 2 people for £22 - not too shabby!

The street names in the New Town draw on ‘Britishness’. Streets were named after Royalty, Empire, English counties, national heroes and reaffirmed Edinburgh’s commitment to the Union. Northumberland Street, and neighbouring Cumberland Street, reflects this link with England. The New Town was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995.

A little more about the New Town:
In mid-1700s Edinburgh was a medieval jumble. To address this in 1766 the City of Edinburgh held a competition to develop 100 acres of city-owned land to the North of the Nor' Loch (now Princes Street Gardens) as a residential suburb to be called the New Town.

James Craig, the 21-year-old son of a merchant, won the competition with his plan for a grid system of streets bounded by formal squares. Building commenced on the first phase of the New Town in 1767 and Northumberland Street forms part of the second phase, built in 1807. Houses in Edinburgh’s New Town were built as a series of individual plots, sold at £2,000, for the wealthy middle class to build their own homes. This resulted in a diversity of buildings within the same street, each with its own individual character but conforming to Craig’s master plan.

Please contact us on 0131 261 8646 and let us know you would like to arrange a car and to get a quote. Transfers are usually around £60 each journey. Please let us know as soon as possible so we have the best possible chance of booking the journey on your behalf, as cars aren't always available at last minute.


The apartment is ideally located to access the city centre by foot or bus. Metred Parking is available Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm. Free at weekends.

We booked the apartment very last minute but on our arrival everything was ready and perfect. The apartment was beautiful with everything you could need and with a great location. Just a few minutes walk from George street and princes street. The owner of the property was also very helpful offering us restaurant and theater recommendations. Would definately recommend and stay again!
