Jon’s place is in a perfect location to everything we wanted to do there within 30-45 min walk max. The place was perfect for 6 people staying and the convenience of the grocer downstairs was very appreciated. There’s enough things stalled in the kitchen for guests to use and the views around are gorgeous 😀 would highly recommend the place for anyone wanting to stay in the city centre and want to get a lot of stuff done within 2-3 days! We stayed 3 nights in July 2024. The checkin process was super simple and the host was very accommodating to any questions and/or requests. The location of the apartment was perfect for us. Easily walkable from the train station and right on the Royal Mile. The kitchen was well appointed, and the living room was large enough for our party. The small store at street level was perfect for purchasing small items for breakfast, etc. Communication with the host was great. Would highly recommend.

Perfect location to everything, especially for a short stay in Edinburgh. Convenient to train station and local tourist attractions, restaurants, etc. Plenty of room in flat, very comfortable for larger group. Each bedroom has a key to the flat. NOTE: stairs up two flights would be hard if you had issues. We felt very safe and had easy access to the Royal Mile. Jon, our host, was very help, accommodating, and responded quickly to our inquiries and group needs. A great stay in Edinburgh! We will return!

Jon’s place has probably the best location of Airbnb’s, right in the entrance of the Royal Mile, walking distance to everywhere, and a 5 min walk to Edinburgh’s main train station. We are a family of 5 and the apartment met all our needs.

This 3 bedroom fit our needs perfectly. The location was just steps away from the Royal Mile and bus stops were very close. Be prepared for stairs as there is no elevator. Otherwise, it's a great property. The owner was easy to communicate with. Great stay!

Apartment was in a really good location to many of points of interest in the old Town.. lots of places to eat on your doorstep. Apartment was comfortable and lovely and warm, well equipped although we didn’t do any cooking whilst there. Spacious, well equipped flat in a great location in central Edinburgh. Comfortable beds and handy to have two modern bathrooms with good showers.
Loved sitting in the window seat overlooking the Royal Mile, watching city life. Very convenient for walking to all the main attractions in the Old or New Town and close to Waverley station.
The flat is south facing and thus as long as the sun is high enough in the sky (we stayed at the end of August) the sun shines through the shuttered windows all day. There is some traffic noise as the accommodation is sited above a busy road junction, but it didn't bother us and this is the pay off for being so centrally located.

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The location was perfect; right on the Royal Mile! It is walking distance from the train station, the bus tours, Edinburgh Castle, restaurants and shopping. Plus the bonus of people watching from the windows. The host gave excellent instructions for arrival and then checked to make sure we got in alright. The beds were comfy and the apartment was clean and spacious. I highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in Edinburgh!!

This was exactly the type of accommodation we were looking for within easy walking distance from the rail station and close to all the activities we had chosen for our stay.

My friends and I stayed five nights - the location is perfect for sightseeing - within five mins walk to the castle, 10 mins to the galleries, and ten mins from the main shopping area, plenty of bars and restaurants all within walking distance. Jon was very helpful - we were arriving early and he arranged an early check in, coms were excellent. The flat is spacious and clutter free - it does have traffic noise but it’s a small trade off for such a great location (and after a while we did not really notice it). Flat has everything you need, bedding and towels were spotless.

Located on the Royal Mile, this apartment is ideal for sightseeing in Edinburgh. I had several questions (hair dryer; parking) before our trip and the owner answered me promptly and was very communicative and friendly. During the trip, I had a question about the lights in the stairwell and he answered me almost immediately. There is a washer/dryer combo which took us a hot minute to figure out; same with the shower (hint, flip the switch outside the door), and we got confused about the floor the apartment was located on (we don't count the first floor as zero in America) but we figured it out. I thought we'd utilize the kitchen but we did not partially because the little store right downstairs although convenient was closed for the Queen's funeral. We did make coffee. I'd highly recommend staying here.

I might suggest a description book to help with the functionality, such as the stove - we could not figure out how to turn it on, and we have used gas stoves several times. This place has amazing location right on the High Street. Most of the things everyone wants to visit is just a couple minutes walk. Of course this has also it's issues (it might be a bit noisy), but that is to be expected when you stay in the city centre. The flat itself was clean and very nice. It was an amazing find for us and we would stay here again. Communication with Jon was clear and fast. I really can't say anything bad :)

The apartment is spacious and very clean. Jon was a fabulous host responding to email questions very quickly. Check-in and out worked well. We had a nice meal at the Worlds End pub opposite the apartment, the staff were very friendly and attentive. The property is a short walk from the castle.

So many places nearby and it’s also very near the Edinburgh Waverly station which is a very important factor for me when choosing a place to stay. We booked the three bedroom unit and it was amazing. There were lots of windows to take in the lovely views on the Royal Mile. Restaurants and pubs galore to choose from, and all the shopping you can handle within a few minutes walking distance. Our family of 6 had plenty of room to spread out, and having two bathrooms is a big plus. The kitchen was well appointed, and the washer/dryer unit was a godsend. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive to inquiries in a short time. Everything was very clean and comfortable - overall a very enjoyable stay in a gorgeous city.

We took 2 apartments on the Royal Mile as there were 14 of us staying for the May bank holiday weekend. Apartments were near each other. So we were able to keep the group together. Both apartments were clean & lovely and matched the pictures on the website. We couldn't have gotten a better location to stay, we were very close to pub/ clubs. Walking distance to Princes Street and Queens street. Everyone in the group were delighted with the accommodation and would highly recommend any family/group to stay there. Jon was very helpful and informed us of nearby pubs, clubs and local attractions.

The owner of the apartment was very friendly and helpful throughout the booking phase and during our stay. The central location on the Royal Mile was ideal for our group of friends as there were plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It was also only a 5 minute walk from Waverly Station. The apartment was on the top floor which had good views back up the Royal Mile. All the rooms were of a decent size and even all seven of us in the front room did not feel cramped Free Wi-Fi was also included which was good Would highly recommend for a group of 6-8 friends and will defiantly use again on our next trip to Edinburgh

First time trip to Edinburgh for a short break and could not have chosen a better apartment. It is in a fantastic location on the Royal Mile close to the castle, Princes St, and the train station with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment was clean, spacious with all the facilities you need and right above a corner shop. The owner, Jon, was very helpful and friendly. The stairs to the apartment were a bit of a hike so not suitable for those with mobility issues. Otherwise highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a city break in Edinburgh. Would definitely book again.

Comfy & Convenient.

We were late to book as we wanted to time it right to match with daughters birthday (she wanted to see the pandas at the City Zoo), train connections, school time, etc. Emailed various establishments across Edinburgh to see if they could accommodate us (family of 6) for the weekend. Jon was quick to reply and suggest suitable plans for us. Very helpful. Answered our queries very quickly too. Was there to meet us at the apartment and show us were everything was. Nice touch that ! The accommodation itself was clean, user friendly and comfy. Nice layout, kids loved it. Location wise, it was perfect. Short walk up the hill from the station. On the Royal Mile and short walk to many attractions. Good restaurants and bars near by too. Would definitely recommend and we hope to come back. Only suggestion - maybe have some complimentary toiletries available. Apart from that - excellent.

Location, Location, Location!

Can not say enough about our wonderful vacation. The Rental people were very helpful in our search for a perfect location. When we arrived at the Condo, we were very pleased with our "home" for the next few days. It was very clean, well furnished and the kitchen was very well equipped with all we needed to cook when we weren't going out to eat at the many wonderful restaurants steps from the unit. Convenient to everything Edinbrough has to offer, we loved the Unit so much and can't wait to go back!!! There are about 3 floors of stairs to climb to get to this unit, but if you are up for it; the location is well worth the climb!

Sich zu Hause fühlen in einer fremden Stadt, die es zu erobern gilt.

Geschmackvoll und modern eingereichtetes Apparment. Alles hat funktioniert. Die großen Kinder waren happy, weil es ein offenes W-LAN-Netz gibt. Wir haben uns gefühlt, als würden wir mitten in der City wohnen, obwohl nur Gäste waren. Für unseren 5jährigen Sohn war es toll, dass wir so zentral gewohnt haben und mitten am Tag einfach mal "Nach Hause" gehen konnten. Wir konnten eigentlich alles zu Fuß erreichen. Ein kleiner Lebensmitteshop ist im selben Haus im Erdgeschoss. Cafés und Restaurants gibt es ohnehin überall. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter hat großartig funktioniert. Wir hatten seine Handynummer und hätten ihn jederzeit anrufen können. Danke für die schönen Tage im schönen Edinburgh! Jederzeit wieder!

strongly recommend this apartment.

This was a well appointed appartment, on the second floor, with views up and down the Royal Mile. It looks a little bit austere when you first enter the building, like the servants stairs, which on reflection may well be what it is. The rooms are all a good size so even with four of us and the little one there was loads of space and everything you need is supplied. Jon the owner was really friendly and accommodating, he met us personally and showed us around, I'm sure nothing would have be to much trouble had we needed anything. I would strongly recommend this apartment; my partner and I took her brother, his wife and their two year old daughter to stay there on their trip to the UK from Spain. They loved it as did we.

Our group of 5 adults stayed in this apartment for 3 nights in Sept 2011 and found it to be just perfect. Location along the Royal Mile was so handy for everything you would want to do in Edinburgh. The 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms made life very comfortable. The apartment was spotlessly clean with all conveniences. We would definately stay there again and we recommend it to everyone. Thank you Jon for your recommendations about places to visit and local eateries and carparking - it was all invaluable information.

Fantastic location, lovely flat.

We stayed here for a long weekend at the start of September. The flat is in a fabulous location in the old town, really close to the station. We were a party of 7 and were all pleasantly surprised by the amount of space the flat provided, and although I didn't sleep on the aerobed, my friend that did for 4 nights said it was really comfortable. I would certainly recommend this flat to friends and family, and hope to visit again myself some time soon.

Great week in Edinburgh.

We rented the Cranston Street apartment. Very nice apartment - perfect for our family... location is ideal for spending a week in Edinburgh. The apartment itself was Clean, tidy and Jon was a real help when we arrived. Recommended to friends.

Lovely apartment, fantastic location

We came to Edinburgh to celebrate a 30th birthday. There were eight of us so we used the aero divan beds in the living room as well as all the bedrooms. The apartment itself was immaculately clean and nicely decorated in a very modern style. The eight of us fit in very comfortably - even with the beds in the living room. The location of the room is absolutely fantastic. It is right on the royal mile with a balcony in the living room looking up the road onto the mile. It meant everything we wanted to see was within close walking distance. The only downside was the noise from the street at night but with a location as ideal as this it was a small price to pay. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Edinburgh.
