Excellent cottage and location
Timber Bush is a fantastic little cottage, very well equipped and maintained. We took the opportunity to stay here for a change from staying with family when in Edinbrugh - we would have no hesitation in using it again.

Unique property in great location
This is a lovely cottage which is well maintained with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay inc plenty of storage for all our own things. We quickly felt at home not least because of the warm but not overwhelming welcome from the owners. There are great coffee shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket on the door step as well as handy bus stops to take you into city centre and beyond. The Shore is a lovely historic location and on lazy or rainy days there is plenty to do round about inc 5 min walk to Ocean Terminal. I almost wish the weather had not been so kind so we could have just stayed home at Timber Bush, curled up on the sofas, watching films and reading, but maybe we will get to do that next time? We will certainly be going back! Thank you, Janet for introducing us to Margaret, Bill and Timber Bush!

First class accommodation in excellent location
We loved our week at Timber Bush and would thoroughly recommend this accommodation. Margaret and Bill have thought of every comfort and we instantly felt right at home. We arrived late in the evening to find the central heating on for us so the house was lovely and cosy, and there was a very welcome bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. The lounge/dining room is comfortable and spacious, all beautifully decorated. We loved the kitchen - especially the dishwasher - a welcome addition as we were entertaining friends and family during our week's stay - who wants to waste time washing dishes on holiday?! Lovely comfy beds and good quality linens and bedding. As far as location goes Timber Bush is hard to beat - seconds walk from Sainsburys Local and Newsagents, countless bars, restaurants, bus stop for town. We can recommend King's Wark Pub and Mimi's Bakehouse to name only two. Thanks to its courtyard location Timber Bush is a haven of peace and quiet when you come inside and close the door despite this all being on your doorstep. 10 out of 10!

Very nice apartment in great spot
We stayed for 6 days whilst attending a wedding, and would like to say what a great time we had. Very comfortable and modern with great hosts who provided all the little things and made us feel very comfortable. Thanks Bill and Margaret.

Stay here, perfect cottage.
Although this is a flat not 'dead' in the centre it is well worth it! The owners live next door and are friendly, helpful but not overbearing. Nothing was left to chance and we even had a welcome pack including a lovely bottle of wine. The cottage is superbly decorated and was excellent for exploring the city. I cannot recommend this cottage enough we had a brilliant stay and will stay again! Thanks to Bill and Margaret for a fantastic stay in Edinburgh.

Well appointed cottage in peaceful location.
We stayed in this cottage during the Festival. It is in a peaceful location, yet Princes St is within 20 mins by bus ( which stops outside the door!). The owners, Margaret and Bill, live next door, and were there to greet us, which was a nice touch ( as were the shortbread biscuits and wine in the fridge!) The property is located within a locked courtyard, and we were able to keep our bikes there ( not that we used them much!). The cottage is full of character; the furnishings are contemporary and attractive. Margaret and Bill provided a selection of DVDs, CDs and books in case we got tired of going out! It felt like a welcome haven after a hectic day in the city. We have no reservations in recommending this holiday property.

Excellent base
Very comfortable accommodation with good facilities. Lack of a blind on the velux in the twin room was the only problem (see earlier review), although the children put up a blanket which solved that for our stay. A fuse went while we were there and that was sorted out immediately by the friendly and helpful owners. You are provided with milk, biscuits, tea bags etc, plus a bottle of wine, which is very welcome if you want to take a break after a long drive getting there. Parking on the street is also straightforward. The city is within walking distance (if you have more time try the attractive river 'Waters of Leith Walk') and the buses were also very convenient and easy.

Beautiful tasteful retreat
We loved our stay so much and the accomodation is just wonderful. The sky light in the twin bedroom does need a cover though as one of the party found it hard to get to sleep as there is a bright orange lamp directly outside so the room stays orange. However, we would stay at the property from now on as it was faultless and decorated to the highest standard. Thank you.

Very comfortable, an excellent base for exploring the city
Our stay at this apartment was very comfortable and proved an excellent base for exploring the city. We discovered the No.35 bus in particular took us into and back from the historic city centre from almost outside the door. Our hosts, Bill and Margaret, couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful which helped make our stay even more pleasurable. I'm now recovering from walking round Edinburgh; the castle, museum, gardens and Royal Mile with my two young grandchildren - a most enjoyable if exhausting visit and look forward to returning sometime soon!

Wonderful little cottage
This was a great place to stay in Edingburgh. Everything you need is on hand, Margaret the owner lives next door and makes you feel really welcome, we had wine in the fridge waiting for us on arrival, tea, coffee and milk were also provided, there are great places to eat and drink 2 mins walk away and buses run right outside directly into the town. It was safe secure and quite (apart from the seagulls, but you cant blame margaret for those). We shall definitely stay here again on our next trip to this glorious city. Penny Ward.

Great little house in a lovely position. Spotless clean and equipped with everything you would need. Margaret and Bill the owners live next door a lovely couple who have a wealth of knowledge about Edinburgh. There is a bus stop 2 min from the flat that takes you in to town, Will definetly be recommending this to my friends.

Superb Location
I loved this quirky little flat and its location, very quiet and beautifully appointed. So near to many wonderful places to eat. Loved Bibi's Bakehouse. The owners were delightful and had got me the Edinburgh property paper as they knew I was looking for a new home in the city which I purused while drinking the wine they left.

Very nice house.
A nice little house on a fairly quiet side street, very close to the pubs and restaurants of Leith. There is a newsagent and a small Sainsbury's about one minute's walk from the flat. A bit of a way into the centre of Edingburgh but it is walkable and there are lots of busses. The flat is very nice (we were only the second people to stay so everything was new) and the owners (who live next door) are very helpful.

Excellent house with a warm welcome!
We really enjoyed our stay in this house, I liked the decor, cleanliness of the house with a feel of freshness in everything we see and touch. I really have to say about landlords Mr. Alcorn and Mrs Margaret, they are so lovable and took special care about our journey and arrival time. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends and family and also to others. This house is in very convenient place to shops (Sainsbusrys just opposite) and restaurants.
