Reviews for 2 Bedroom Apartment in New Town (Ref.13)
Edinburgh Flats Partnership
We had a very enjoyable stay in this flat. It is a stones throw from the city centre but in a beautiful, quiet street. Walking distance to both the city and the botanical gardens (which are well worth a visit). The flat is really nicely decorated and clean. We had 2 small children with us and it suited us perfectly. The only down side was the storage heaters and rattly sash windows..... but the electric heater sorted it out so that we were never cold. We will stay again....

I appreciated the location and the style of the apartment who provides the basic comfort needed. The area is great, I could visit almost everything without having to take the bus. Shops nearby. The minuses are: extra charge for international bank transfer altough my bank doesnt charge anything and I was given no other payment option, no proper blinds in bedrooms to prevent daylight from waking you up, no DVD player. Overall, I'm ready to stay there again though.

Had a great time in this perfectly sized flat for people wishing to do a bit of exploring then come back and have a place to relax that feels like home! Also close enough to the centre to be very handy yet VERY quiet for a place so near to the middle of a major city - perfect if you like a good night's sleep too! VERY much recommended - I will definitely be back.

From the booking process, through the pre-stay information, the handover and of course the stay itself, everything went perfectly. The apartment is in a great location, very close to the interesting bits of town but at the same time in a relatively quiet area. There is a small Tesco within a couple of minutes walk which is open until 11pm. The apartment is small but fine for 3 people (or 4 I guess but there were only 3 of us!). The combined kitchen and living area makes for a very sociable setting although perhaps the sofa could be slightly more comfortable and/or fixed so the seats don't keep sliding off. The WiFi access worked well and was appreciated, if only so we could blog our activities during our stay. I very much like the decision by the owners to leave unused basic foodstuffs from the previous let in the cupboards. It's so nice not to have to buy sugar etc knowing you'll be throwing 90% of it away when you leave. Dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid and a J cloth were all provided, again it was nice not to have to go and get the basics. The bathroom has a nice shower (powerful and hot) over the bath as well as a very welcome heated towel rail. For some reason, although there is plenty of water pressure at the sink and shower the toilet takes ages to refill, maybe that could be improved? We only met the owner once, at handover. He was very welcoming and helpful, taking time to explain what was where etc and even going to get more dishwasher tabs when he noticed there were none. Overall this was a very successful stay, many thanks.

The apartment was in a good location and only 10 minutes away from the station. The facilities were good but it would have been nice to have been allowed more towels, 1 per person for 5 days doesn't feel enough. Overall it was pleasent and cosy until a few days before leaving when we found a mouse. We contacted the rental firm who said they would come out and put poison and traps while we were out for the day though there didn't appear to be any evidence of them doing this. Overall it was a pleasent stay marred by an unexpected visitor.

Initial impressions were that the flat was a little tired and shabby. However it was well equiped, clean and comfortable but if more than 2 adults stay here it will be a squash. The loo takes a very long time to refill between flushes. The location is great as the street is quiet and everywhere is within easy walking distance. We would stay here again for this very reason. It was great to have internet access. The info folder is a bit messy and we missed the timings for putting out the rubbish may be a laminated sheet with key info could be left on the kitchen table. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Edinburgh Flats.

Very nice central flat, very close to the Center, very close to the BUS station, 800 m to main train station, 2 min walk to cinema and TESCO, restaurants and also very close to the Holyrood park and other city tourist attractions. I've spent 3 months here and I've enjoyed a lot. I would strongly recommend the flat for families. The only thing I couldn't use to it and I didn't like it, was the weather (too much rain, …rain… and rain!!!).

A nice flat and we were welcomed early in the morning by a nice man. We arranged to make the full payment for the month by internet transfer to the owners account. Later that day we received a rude email saying we should pay immediately or have to leave the flat that day. We could not understand this sudden change in behaviour and had not come across it in this context before although we have come across prejudice generally. The cleaners who came once during the month and once at the end then accused of us "spoiling" the sheets, presumably with body fluids- which was a complete lie. Another cleaner said there was felt tip pen on the children's bedroom sheets which there wasn't and anyway the cleaner had stated the wrong beds as being occupied by the children. This marred the stay as we had kept the place very clean and tidy. I was not sure if the cleaners were trying to use any excuse to keep the deposit of 200 pounds. No spare sheets or towels were supplied except for one in the middle of our stay. The flat was cute and central.

Great location of the flat, close to city centre but quiet at night. Flat was well equipped and we had everything we needed.

This was an excellent choice for us. It is 10 minutes walk from Waverley Station but completely quiet at night. Having a whole flat at our disposal was a much better arrangement for a couple travelling with a teenager than 2 hotel rooms would have been, and cheaper too. The flat is equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay and I would happily recommend it to friends visiting Edinburgh. My only criticism is of the rental firm. It took a couple of phone calls before I was able to pay for the rental, and it would have been much easier all round if I could have paid online when I made the booking.

A cosy, functional apartment, with 2 bedrooms, shower, bath and kitchen/lounge. Comfy beds, lots of room, and not far from the centre of Edinburgh (10-15min walk), and just minutes from Edinburgh Waverley station. Highly recommended.

We had a terrific stay. Only problem was that we were not given contact details in time when we left Australia and had to rush around on arrival to find an internet cafe to find your contact details to get to the apartment. In making arrangements you could ask for people's travel details so your contact information is provided earlier thanks

Really nice clean flat that's on the first floor. The location is excellent and a Tesco Express just 5 mins away. Also it's not noisy at night time as well. The only thing is it took me a day or two to figure out how the storage heaters work.

This flat was excellent for our stay in Edinburgh in December, even though the snow was bad we only had a short walk to the town centre and got around easily. Very clean and warm with easy access only on the first floor so not too many stairs to go up.
