Edinburgh's Winter Festival
At the end of November, the city of Edinburgh turns into a winter festival. Part of Princes Street Gardens is turned into an outdoor ice rink. There is an area set-up with rides, and a German Market is set-up at street level, along with Craft shop vendors which are placed near the Walter Scott Monument.
As Hogmanay approaches the Hogmanay Festival begins with the Torchlight Procession from Parliament Square to Calton Hill. You can bring along your own torch, or buy one at the event. On the 30th of December there is an enormous street party celebrated on George Street. This Party 'The Night Afore' begins at 20:00 and is supposed to end at midnight.
