Entries Open for Edinburgh Marathon 2012

Edinburgh Marathon course is considered one of the fastest in the UK due to its almost flat route. Its scenery is among the most beautiful.

Edinburgh Marathon is more than a simple race. It’s been called a Marathon Festival because there will be many different races taking place during the weekend. There is certainly a race for everyone. In addition to the marathon, a half-marathon, a team relay in which you can split the run between your team of 4 runners, 10 and 5k races that include a wheelchair race and a handbike race, and junior races are also part of the program. So, there is no reason not to participate.

If you are an international runner you can take part of the International Breakfast Run on Saturday May 26th (the day before of the marathon and the half-marathon). You will be taken to a tour around the city. A 3-mile route that will start by the Holyrood Park, stopping at Edinburgh Castle, the historic Royal Mile, the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyroodhouse where you will hear some of the interesting histories about our beautiful historical Edinburgh.

The Marathon weekend is one of the busiest of the year in Edinburgh. If you are taking part, we advise you to start looking for accommodation.  Here is a list of properties that are available on those dates.
