There is no better way to get to know Edinburgh than walking. Believe us!
If you take a little time planning in advance it will save you lots of time here! When you arrive at Edinburgh airport or one of Edinburgh’s train stations (Haymarket and Waverley), just pick up a free map.
The Royal Mile is the most famous street in Edinburgh and must be your start point. You will become very familiar with it since it’s very likely you will go up and down this mile more than once during your visit.

A Royal Wedding in Edinburgh!

This is the year of the royal weddings! After Prince William and Kate Middleton, now Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, tied the knot in April, it’s time for Zara Phillips, the Queen’s eldest grand-daughter, to exchange rings with rugby star Mike Tindall.
The wedding ceremony will be held next July 30th at Canongate Kirk, in the Old Town of Edinburgh followed by a reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Fringe Festival is the world’s largest arts festival and takes place during four weeks in August. The first edition dates from 1947 when some theater companies turned up uninvited to the Edinburgh International Festival.
